Frequently asked questions

Everything people usually ask us before buying or booking a tasting. If your question is not here, write to us on WhatsApp or through the contact page.

Where can I find the shop, and when is it open?

Alambique & Barril is at Calle Jardines 3, 11300 La Línea de la Concepción, Cádiz. Winter weekday hours are 10:00–14:00 and 17:30–20:30; summer weekday hours are 10:00–14:00 and 18:00–21:00. On Saturdays the shop opens from 10:00 to 14:00.

Who is allowed to buy alcohol from the shop?

Sales are for people aged 18 or over. When ordering, you confirm that you are of legal age. The shop may ask for proof of age when your order is delivered or collected.

Is in-store collection available?

Yes. You can collect an online order free of charge from the shop at Calle Jardines 3 in La Línea de la Concepción.

What are the local delivery charges?

Local delivery is available from a €35 order. It costs €2.95 within La Línea and €4.50 elsewhere in Campo de Gibraltar, and becomes free from €85. Delivery times are estimates and can vary with location and availability.

Can you send wine elsewhere in mainland Spain?

Yes. Mainland orders are sent by Correos, with a €35 minimum order. The basket calculates the charge from the number of bottles before payment. Mainland delivery is free from €100. Contact the shop about large orders or destinations outside the stated areas.

Do you deliver to Gibraltar?

No. We ship across mainland Spain and hand-deliver in La Línea and the Campo de Gibraltar, but we do not cross into Gibraltar. If you live in Gibraltar you can collect your order at the shop (Calle Jardines 3, La Línea) or have it delivered to an address in La Línea.

What payment method does the website accept?

You can pay by credit or debit card through the secure BBVA (Redsys) virtual POS, or cash on delivery when you receive or collect the order. The shop never stores card details. Listed prices are in euros and include VAT, and any delivery charge is shown before checkout is completed.

What is the returns window?

You have 14 calendar days after receiving an order to withdraw. Tell the shop which order you are returning and send items back unopened and in good condition. Return postage is yours unless the item is faulty or incorrect. Refunds use the original payment method.

How are damaged or incorrect deliveries handled?

Contact the shop as soon as you notice a broken, damaged or incorrect product. It will arrange either a replacement or a refund at no cost to you.

Do you offer gift boxes or a personalised message?

Yes. We offer an engraved wooden box with our logo: 2 bottles €12, 3 bottles €14.50, 6 bottles €17. For deliveries in the Campo de Gibraltar there is also a cardboard gift box for 2 bottles (+€3.50) or 3 bottles (+€4). For Correos shipments we only use the wooden box, which protects the bottles better. Cards in an envelope for your own gift message are on their way; ask at the shop. Say so in the order notes and we confirm the cost before packing.

What should I expect at a wine tasting?

Scheduled tastings start at €25 per person and include nibbles. They run with at least 6 and no more than 12 guests. Private tastings are also available for groups of 6–12; contact the shop to discuss the date, wines and theme.

What is the tasting cancellation policy?

Cancel at least 72 hours ahead for a full refund. Later cancellations are non-refundable, but you may make one move to another available date or use the amount as shop credit. If the shop postpones or cancels because minimum attendance is not reached, it offers a full refund or another date.

Do the tasting nibbles contain allergens?

The nibbles served with our tastings may contain gluten, dairy and nuts. If you are coeliac, vegan or have an allergy, tell us when you book (or a few days ahead) and we will adapt them.
