Tierra Fidel Blanco

An introduction to the single-plot whites of Bodegas Tierra, and probably one of their most complex and at the same time most focused whites.

Winemaking

Grapes from a single pago classified as Viñedo Singular of just 0.388 hectares, situated north of Labastida on calcareous sandy soil and planted in 1920. The harvest is selected in the vineyard itself; on arrival at the winery the fruit is destemmed and given a light maceration. Fermentation then takes place in 750-litre Austrian oak foudres, with a final ageing of twelve months in the same. Barely 1,600 bottles of each vintage reach the market.

House recommendation

We recommend opening it in advance to give it plenty of air, and serving it in a wide glass at around 14ºC.
